Status icon size and offset

The size of the status icon is limited by GPS to a maximum of 24 x 24 pixels. The icon can be smaller, but must not exceed the size of 24 pixels in any dimension. Failure to adhere to this limitation may cause the icon not to apear on the GPS display. The icon does not necessarily be a squared shape, rectangular shapes work great in combination with offset.

Offset parameter can be helfpful if you want to move the status icon a bit off from underneath the geocache icon. Unless there is the offset value set to a positive integer, the status icon will be placed directly at the geocache coordinates. The icons of status elements must therefore be placed around the edges to be visible.

If the Offset parameter is set to a positive integer, the whole resulting status icon will be placed off the geocache coordinates using the offset distance and angle. The resulting display in GPS is highly dependent on selected zoom and offset distance. Some offset values may be unsuitable and cause the status icon to be drawn at the top of the geocache icon, or another adjacent icon. This is a GPS limitation which can not be resolved. It is up to the user to tweak the offset value and find the best working configuration.

Icon position and corrected coordinates

The status icon is by default placed on the listed coordinates of the geocache. If there is a final waypoint with valid coordinates, the icon will only be moved to the corrected coordinates if the option Corrected coordinates is enabled. By default, the fact that the icon was moved to the final coordinates is indicated by a small icon (red flag by default). If you want to disable this indicator, you can simply use a fully transparent icon.
